In 1997, John Torkelson founded theACCESSpartnership, l.p. to provide accessibility consulting to building owners, facility managers and architects. His background in the architecture field, and desire to assist architects, developers and owners through the often confusing maze of accessibility standards and codes led him to found a company that focuses on providing clear, consistent information in a timely manner.

Technical Staff

Our registered accessibility specialist staff are located in the Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Charlotte, Los Angeles, New York and Seattle areas and have experience from a variety of backgrounds which enable them to bring added skill sets to the field of accessibility consulting. These experiences with architecture, interior design, facility management and construction allow them to interpret accessibility standards from the “other side of the code book” giving insight on the frustrations and “gray areas” that are inherent in accessibility codes.
